Stream Cleanup Waste

Although trash is not the biggest threat to Baltimore’s water quality, it is one of the easiest to address. With many hands and just a few hours of work, it is possible to reduce pollution and restore beauty to our waterways!

Regional Cleanups

Join Blue Water Baltimore for stream cleanups throughout the year including two major cleanup efforts in the Chesapeake Bay watershed:

Each year in April local streams and woodlands receive a clean start as thousands of volunteers in the Chesapeake Bay region come out for Project Clean Stream.

  • Better Waterways Cleanup

Each year in November Better Waterways Cleanup works with volunteers to remove trash throughout the Gunpowder, Patapsco, Herring Run, Gwynns Falls and Jones Falls Watersheds.

High school students in the UMBC Choice Program joined us for a stream cleanup in Powder Mill Community Park. All had a great time, and collected many bags of trash.
