Our Harbor Alert Tool Maps Baltimore’s Water Quality

Baltimore Harbor Water Alert

We are pleased to announce the launch of our Baltimore Harbor Water Alert website.  The new website is a one-of-a-kind design that displays water quality data for Baltimore’s Harbor, rivers and streams in an interactive mapping format.

The new site features:

  • Ability to measure and map water health and pollution in the Patapsco and its tributaries
  • Water quality data that assesses how the pollution impact affects the environment
  • Ability to graph, compare and explore data, as well as locate your home, school or workplace on the map

The website also provides timely bacteria data to help you make informed decisions about water contact.

The Baltimore Harbor Water Alert website is a project of the Baltimore Harbor Waterkeeper, a program of Blue Water Baltimore, and Healthy Harbor, an initiative of the Waterfront Partnership.

The Baltimore Harbor Waterkeeper team, including volunteers and staff, routinely monitors the Baltimore Harbor/Tidal Patapsco, Jones Falls and Gwynns Falls watersheds to collect the water quality data that powers the Harbor Alert website.

Blue Water Baltimore and Waterfront Partnership also collaborate to produce the annual Healthy Harbor Report Card, which relies upon the same set of water quality data for the Harbor and its tributaries.
