Get Involved
Blue Water Baltimore works towards a future when our neighborhood streams are safe for fishing and swimming and our clean harbor is the pride of our city. We are a citizen-powered organization, and we need your help to make our vision a reality!
Volunteer Opportunities
Lend a hand and volunteer with us! View our spring volunteer events calendar. There are many ways you can help clean up our water, whether at one-time events or through ongoing efforts. We have opportunities for all ages, abilities, and interests including:
- Tree Planting and Maintenance: Help clean our waters by greening your community.
- Nursery Sales and Maintenance: Go native! Help our seedlings survive and thrive in Baltimore.
- Stream Cleanups: Bring your family and friends — it feels great to admire a clean stream bank and remember how dirty it was just a few hours ago.
- Adopt-A-Stream: Walk your stream section biweekly to report sewage leaks, dumping, or other problems. We need you to be our eyes and ears!
- Water Quality Monitoring: See for yourself how clean your stream is today — and which way the trends are going.
- Education and Outreach: Help us educate others about the need for cleaner streams and rivers, and spread the word about how everyone can make a difference.
- Administrative and Fundraising Assistance: Do you care about clean water, but can’t or don’t want to do manual labor? There are activities which are crucial to our success which can be completed from your home.
- Watershed Councils: Become a Council volunteer and let us know what is happening in your neighborhood that affects our waterways. Help us at local events (fairs, etc.) to spread the word about Blue Water Baltimore in your community.
